If you are running Windows then you should select the 'Windows (.exe)' button. If you are running a Mac, Linux or prefer to use the jar file, then you should select the 'Linux/Mac/Others (.jar)' button. SevTech Ages is, by far, the worst modpack so far created and should be removed. My current complain though is I can't seem to update the pack as one file is pretty big at 78mb or so and the twitch launcher keeps timing out the download when it gets to that file. I've been trying to download SevTech for ages now, I even went on Darkosto's discord to find somebody to resolve the issue, but for some reason the modpack stops downloading midway. Is there a problem with my twitch, and also what's happening, and more importantly, how can i resolve this?

All I can recomend is deletiung all the files, grab a fresh download use the scripts provided to install/start the server and then try again. (Also make sure you joining the server with a SevTech Client and not vanilla, as I had this issue with another user (don't ask how they did not notice but it's known that people miss it)) Memory usage analysis.. tl;dr remove SmoothFont and you should be able to run the pack with 3 gigabytes allocated. Forget about running the pack smoothly if you don't have 6GB of RAM in your computer, but if you do you should be able to allocate 3.5 gigabytes (once you remove SmoothFont, or it gets fixed) and have a fairly comfortable ceiling. The issue could be you're trying to run 12gb of ram. This pack and almost every other only need 4-6gb depending on if you're running optifine or resource packs.
